STRONGER TOGETHER

Well I joined world pulse in 2020 /11/12 after googling for a platform of women where I could have access to learning , the search bar produced a number of feedbacks ,I tried out some which I did not pick interest then eventually world pulse made more sense after going through some stories , I begun by sharing about who I was the encouragement I got in return was overwhelming ,I felt comfortable after a long period of time I was used to the harsh treatments I received with in my community . World pulse charged me up in a way I can not explain with mere words , I felt accepted despite knowing who I was , I was encouraged and comforted . As a matter of fact world pulse healed me , soothed my traumer realizing that I also mattered made me regain my confidence and gave me the urge to continue , the encouragement wrapped with pleasing words gave me the urge to post more stories about my self , I regained the lost me in the process .

world pulse became my home away from home , my comfort zone whenever I got some free time I preferred exploring world pulse reading stories that are alike to mine , through exploring I learnt that I was eligible to apply for World pulse digital ambassador, on 2022/9/28 i happened to be among the 175 elected world pulse digital ambassadors from 30 countries , our platform was meant to train us about digital empowerment and other topics concerning women/ girls in their communities .

The platform gave us access to make deep connections with leaders around the world , exchange ideas with the concerned ones that would in turn benefit us as women .

We meet as a community of women across boarders , listened , discussed a given topic , wrote , hold each other and rise a platform which smoothened the struggles.

I had access to learning i earned a number of certificates , as world pulse ambassadors we had a what's up group where we could make deep connections about work , we had several zoom meetings like thriving Thursday each month for digital ambassadors to see each other via video say hello ,make connections and on Friday we discussed on different topics concerning women like Gender based violence , what could be done to end it ,women's rights and more we shared ideas , best strategies , with the guidance from our leaders every one was given a chance to share her thoughts , we discussed the done work the planned moves , the achievements , the challenges , how we could overcome the challenges and all that concerned our work within the community . As a matter of fact we all laid a foundation as world pulse ambassadors of year 2022 . We strengthened our leadership potentials and skills

Women's supporting each other means life saving , it involves re building , recreating reshaping the damaged ones

It means giving hope to the hopeless ones , it is lightening the dimmed , it creates a ground to learn , explore and establish .

As a matter of fact women supporting women is equivalent to unbreakable metal shoulder for women to lean on whenever they are down .

It serves as a system to amplify the oppressed women .

It is a play ground for women to exercise and enjoy their rights.

I can best describe it as a ladder with a one way route which is for climbing up . Women supporting women means remolding new ideas and strategies for the future generation .

It also means injecting confidence where it was sucked It further means encouraging , guiding and inspiring of fellow women .

It means building a metal fence for protection which can not be easily broken .

Women supporting women should be refered to as a loud speaker which is audible enough to be hard allover the world .

It is a tune which every woman would enjoy, infact I would best describe it as an engine which grinds challenges , Mere words can not explain the significance which is in the statement "women supporting" it is a path for every woman to travel .

Being a refugee in an asylum country , I decided to help the refugee community women and the vulnerable needy women in Kampala . The challenges I went through to the extent of losing hope gave me the urge to correct some steps , by offering my helping hand in various ways with hopes of perfecting my moves .

I have helped a number of refugee women to register for refugee statuses , by taking them to the right office not untill it was stopped to register within Kampala , registering is now done in refugee settlements outside Kampala .

I helped a number of them to get affordable houses for rent , affordable schools or government schools, affordable hospitals or government hospitals , affordable markets .

I have also helped a number of them to register for courses like English Grammer , make up classes , computer classes , catering in refugee NGOs . I have helped a number of refugee women to access NGOs for help in terms of medical expenses , house rent , maternity help , food help for those who are completely stuck

I have helped a number of refugee women to report their insecurities to the concerned ones , I have even fought battles for women refugees who were oppressed by the citizens for instance one of the women son was knocked by a motorcycle while she had approached me for advise , we rushed at the road side found a crowd of people who forced the motorcycle rider to take him to the hospital , he was doing it with ease but when he learnt that we were Congolese he hesitated abit , reaching the hospital before billing him he tried to run away with claims that Congolese can not make him pay in his own country , asking the Askari who was the gate man to allow him go since he was his tribement . I realised and I tried stopping him because no one was there at the moment to help , he extended some blows I also fought back which I was very much avoiding as self defence untill we got help .

Helping requires energy , patience at times visiting some offices requires a ful day which may end up involving roadside lunch , drinks which is inform of spending money , I stay to act as a translators at times most sudanese women fail to communicate ( language barrier) I use my time to offer them help , I encourage them to make them feel better , at times I write for them to concerned offices , I give them hope that they will get used and carry on with examples like how I felt the first time and others on ground , I assure them that I will offer help whenever I can .

Helping a traumatized refugee is all about rebuilding her confidence the way she is perceived , directing her to the path to heal .

If women supporting women was the norm , the world would be a mini heaven for women , the women would rise without limits , new doors of new ideas and innovations would open for a better future , the world would be a safe place for women and girls .

Creating platforms in communities for women to raise their voices , encourage each other ,share ideas , share their downs , fear , access to learning , comforting each other , rising one another would serve as an action to create caring safe spaces for women and girls .
