Building a movement that actually creates change

Hello World Pulse Family!

My name is Tisa, i live in Lilongwe, Malawi. Born and raised there. The name Tisa means "the one who is strong/protective stronghold/helper." I love the name as it simple with a bold strong meaning and it describes exactly who i am.

Malawi is beautiful country, as it is said it's the "Warm Heart of Africa." My favorite part of my Country is the views, the nature and we are also peaceful people.

As a founder of "SAFE GIRLS, STRONG WOMEN" movement, here are a few things am passionate about;

1. Girl's Safety and Dignity : Making sure girls feel safe and heard. Making sure they feel protected physically and emotionally too.
2. Women's strength and leadership : I just don't want to "help" women, i want them to lead, grow and become strong enough to help others.
3. Community and story telling : I love connecting with people. Meeting change makers, sharing stories, learning new skills and collaborating. I believe real change starts with knowledge.

My motivations are;

1. To create change i didn't always see; i am motivated by the gap i always felt. I want the next girl to have safety, support and chances than before.
2. To grow something bigger than myself; Motivated by growth, both mine and the movement's
3. To turn ideas into action. I want SAFE GIRLS, STRONG WOMEN, to become programs, partnerships and real impact.

My inspirations are other change makers, i want to meet and learn from people around the world. I am also highly inspired by "what could be" if girls and women were safe and strong. That future version of Malawi and the world is what fuels me. And another of my favorite is Girls and Women that i serve. Their resilience, their potential and their stories that's probably what keeps me going on hard days.

This is not just a movement it's personal. I've turned my pain into purpose. Because of the first hand experience of rape and abuse i have faced before. I want to create a safe space so others don't go through the same things, and those who have to heal. That's the heart of SAFE GIRLS, STRONG WOMEN.

I joined World Pulse hoping there might some women who understand this journey. I wanna learn and grow from World Pulse Family. And possibly get support for the community in terms of trainings, resources and financial aid.
