Her story
I am PRISCILLA ASABEA, a proud Ghanaian. My story is basically on gender roles and stereotypes. As a kid, my brothers were having the privilege to do whatever they want to do. No chores because they are boys. Son preference made me feel less of myself which l decided to also portray the attitudes of a boy. My brothers were given all the opportunities they wanted only if they don't ask. Even when a woman gives birth to a male child, it becomes a great news because they say " She has given birth to a human being". What about us girls? Even after my primary school, l was told to learn a trade because I'm a girl. Who says women can't make it? These arguments has lead to women fighting to be seen tagged as " feminist ".
I believe in women empowerment, girl child education and supporting of girls to achieve their goals. Not forgetting boys as their lives matter. Also, agree men also goes through a lot , because of where I come from and what I have seen. When she cares and He loves, we shall build a better world.
Priscilla Asabea,
