My Red Oud

Seeking
Connections

In my tuning
In my playing
Search for me
For dreams that wandered away from me
For shoes in the color of pink
Not Cinderella’s silver shoe
For the days when my father carried me on his shoulders
Giving me mirrors
Or telling enchanting stories
Of a rebellious whale
Or a wandering mermaid
Of the stork bird
And the singing of the swallow
Of a polar house at the ends of the earth that courts me
And a squirrel racing through the surroundings
I opened the pouch of memory to emptiness
In that melody
I crossed lands and lands
And entered the palaces of princes
I wandered with my books, my stories, my colors, my tenderness
And my brown cap
With my red oud I played in the streets
I did not care for a breeze of wind that drops my hair from above
I am a harp of melody
A bottle of love
A passerby through the realms.
