Nadra AlMahdi Invited to Participate in Event on the Sidelines of the UN General Assembly

Sudanese journalist and activist Nadra AlMahdi has been invited to participate in the “Voices of Mothers” event, organized by the World Woman Foundation on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York. The event is scheduled to take place on September 21, 2026.

The event, held in collaboration with Live Nation and L-Acoustics, brings together women from diverse backgrounds and experiences to share stories, experiences, and ideas about motherhood, leadership, resilience, identity, and social impact.

According to the invitation, the event will feature ten women who will present personal stories and experiences through six-minute live creative pieces. Contributions may take the form of storytelling, personal testimony, poetry, music, performance, or conversation.

The event centers on one key question: “What changes when we finally listen to the voices of mothers?” The conversation will explore issues of power, identity, opportunity, care, leadership, equality, and the future of the next generation.

The initiative aims to highlight mothers’ experiences and recognize motherhood as a force for social impact and intergenerational change, particularly amid crises and conflicts that directly affect women, children, and families.

The event is scheduled to take place on September 21, 2026, in New York City, during the week of the United Nations General Assembly.
