Strength Is Better Shared

I used to think I had to handle everything on my own. Whenever life became overwhelming, I would convince myself that asking for help meant I wasn’t strong enough. But with time, I realized that some of my biggest moments of growth came because someone chose to encourage me, listen to me, or simply remind me that I wasn’t alone.

There is a Yoruba saying: “Ọ̀kan kì í gbé ẹrù dé orí,” which means one person cannot lift a heavy load onto their head alone. The older I grow, the more I understand the wisdom behind those words.

That realisation changed the way I see strength. I no longer believe it is about pretending to have it all together or carrying every burden in silence. Sometimes, strength is found in opening up, accepting support, and allowing others to walk the journey with us.

Being part of World Pulse has deepened that understanding. Every story I read reminds me that behind every smile is a journey, and behind every achievement is someone who refused to let another person give up. The kindness, encouragement, and shared experiences in this community have shown me that our voices become more powerful when they come together.

To me, Stronger Together is more than a theme. it is a reminder that we all have something meaningful to offer. Whether it is a word of encouragement, a listening ear, or simply sharing our story, we have the power to uplift one another. And in lifting others, we often discover that we are growing stronger too.
