Women Thrive: Digital Agriculture for Change

Dear World Pulse Sisters,

If you had asked me a few years ago whether I would see myself building a future in agriculture, I probably would have smiled and said, "No." Like many people, I thought agriculture was simply about farming. I never imagined it could become a pathway to empowering women, creating jobs, and changing lives.

The more I looked around my community, the more I noticed a painful reality. Women are the backbone of food production. We plant, harvest, process, package, and sell. Yet when it comes to owning businesses, accessing finance, using technology, or making important decisions, many of us are left behind.

I have experienced this in my own journey. Starting an agribusiness without capital was frightening. There were moments when I questioned myself and wondered if I was dreaming too big. But I refused to let fear stop me. I started where I could—connecting farmers with buyers, learning every day, taking free online courses, and believing that every small step mattered.

One thing I have learned is that the future of agriculture is not just in the soil; it is also in technology.

Digital skills are becoming just as important as farming skills. Women need to know how to use digital marketing to reach customers beyond their local communities. We need to understand data so we can make better business decisions. We need digital payment systems that make buying and selling easier and safer. We need to learn how to use AI tools, mobile apps, and online marketplaces to find buyers, compare prices, reduce waste, and increase our profits.

My dream is to combine agriculture with digital innovation. I want to build a business that uses technology to connect smallholder farmers directly with reliable markets, provide timely market information, improve record keeping, and reduce post-harvest losses. I also want to create simple digital learning opportunities that help women farmers gain confidence using smartphones, online business tools, and artificial intelligence, even if they have never used them before.

I believe technology should not replace women in agriculture—it should empower us.

I want every woman, whether she lives in a rural village or a busy city, to know that she can build a thriving agribusiness with the right knowledge, determination, and support. We should not be excluded from the digital revolution simply because of where we live or the opportunities we were denied.

Joining World Pulse gives me hope because this is a community where women encourage one another instead of competing. Here, our stories matter. Our ideas matter. Our voices matter.

My vision is bigger than building a successful agribusiness. I want to help create a future where women farmers are seen as entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders. A future where young girls grow up believing they belong in boardrooms, technology hubs, and agricultural value chains. A future where food security, women's economic empowerment, and digital inclusion go hand in hand.

I know I cannot achieve this vision alone. That is why I am here—to learn from you, share what I know, build meaningful partnerships, and grow alongside women who believe that lasting change begins when we lift one another.

What the initiative would do

•Teach women how to market agricultural products using social media.

•Train women to use AI tools to write business proposals, business plans, and grant applications.

•Introduce digital record-keeping and bookkeeping for small agribusinesses.

•Connect women farmers directly with buyers through digital platforms.

•Organize mentorship circles where women share knowledge, opportunities, and encouragement.

•Help women access scholarships, training, and funding opportunities in agriculture and technology.

•Encourage young girls to see agriculture as a modern, innovative, and profitable career.

Thank you for welcoming me into this incredible community. I look forward to learning from your stories, sharing mine, and building a future where no woman is left behind in agriculture or in the digital world.
